Soichiro Honda

Soichiro Honda (Honda Sō'ichirō 本田 宗一郎, 17 November 1906-5 August 1991) was a Japanese industrialist who was born in Hamamatsu, Shizuoka, Japan.

When he was 12 years, Honda managed to create a model bicycle with foot brakes. At the age of 15 years, Honda worked at Hart Shokai Company. His boss, Saka Kibara, very pleased to see how Honda works. He carefully and skillfully in a matter of machinery. Finally, at the age of 21 years, Honda's boss propose Honda to work at a branch office in Hamamatsu.

This offer is not rejected. In Hamamatsu achievements still works better. He always receive reparations are rejected by another shop. In those days, the radius of a car made of wood, so, not good to dampen shocks. Honda had the idea to replace it with a metal trellis. As a result, metal trellis sold, and exported to all over the world.

At age 30, Honda signed a patent first. After creating a trellis, Honda wanted to leave his boss, makes his own garage business.


He began to work, to manufacture Pinston Ring, which is produced by his own workshop in 1938. Unfortunately, his work was rejected by the Toyota, because they do not meet the standards. Ring homemade inflexible, and not sold .because of that, Honda became ill. Two months later, his health restored. He returned to his shop. But, the Pinston Ring problem isn't solve yet. then, He try find a solution. By looking for answers, He went to college again to increase his knowledge of the machine. After two years as a student, he was eventually drop out because rarely follow the lecture.

Thanks to his hard work, his designs Ring Pinston accepted. Toyota awarded the contract, so that Honda wants to build a factory. However, because Japan was preparing a war, he did not get the funding. Honda is not desperate, he is raising capital from a group of people to set up factories.

After the war broke out, the factory burned twice. However, Honda is not discouraged. He was rushed to collect their employees. They were instructed to take the rest of benzene cans discarded by the U.S. ships, used as a factory. Unexpectedly, an earthquake erupted destroying the factory, so it was decided to sell the Pinston Ring factory for Toyota

After that, Honda tried several other businesses. But always failed. Finally, in 1947, after the war, Japan's shortage of gasoline. Here the condition of the Japanese economy in ruins. Honda can not sell his car to buy food for his family. Under these circumstances, he had the idea to put small motors on bicycles. Who would have guessed, the bike is enthused by the neighbors. They flocked to order, so that Honda ran out of stock. Here, re-established the Honda motorcycle factory. Since then, success is never out of his hand.
