Masashi Kishimoto

Masashi Kishimoto was born in Okayama Prefecture in 1974 as the twin brother of 2 children (younger brother named Seishi Kishimoto , who is the mangaka of 666 Satan).

When Kishimoto-sensei is still a child, one of the most favorite TV show is  Doraemon. All Masashi Kishimoto friends like Doraemon and draw the characters. Kishimoto-sensei is the best. He showed what parts are wrong in his friends drawing and shows how to draw.

when he at Elementary school, Masashi Kishimoto really like drawing. During school, he fill his notebook with a drawing, even he still drawing when he was playing with his friends. Kishimoto Favorite anime is Doraemon, until one day he saw Mobile Suit Gundam, he drawing all of Gundam Character.

After He drawing Mobile Suit Gundam, a new anime show, which is famous manga from Akira Toriyama-sensei: Dr. Slump. Masashi Kishimoto tells of how he did not believe, how can Dr. Slump picture is very good and he began to draw that anime characters.


Towards graduation in Elementary School, Kishimoto really crazy about Dragon Ball, the most famous manga from Akira Toriyama-sensei. And finally Masashi Kishimoto made a decision. He began by thinking that he wanted to be a popular manga like Akira Toriyama. Kishimoto made his first work entitled "Hiatari-kun", about a young ninja.

When stepping on Junior High School, Kishimoto focus on something other than drawing. Drawing was almost not anymore because he did not have the time. But one day he saw a poster which he said was excellent. it is "Akira" Figure by Katsuhiro Ootomo.

Kishimoto began drawing "Akira". But, no matter how much he tried to imitate, he can not.Effects, design, and every detail of the picture is very different from other mangaka. Kishimoto-sensei finally realized, that great work is original work.

Kishimoto tries to draw with its own character, but he still can not. He finally gave up and spent his first all high school time to mimic the drawing of Ootomo-sensei.

When he was in class XI, Kishimoto successfully completed his first comic book containing 31 pages. He asked the opinion of his family. But he could only got negative answers. Kishimoto remain enthusiastic and send it to comic Jump Magazine Award, but failed.

Kishimoto did not give up and make a lot of comics. But his comics are always not good. He wondered why the comic was not good and what makes others comics looks great?

Because he spent his time to find the answer, Kishimoto graduated high school with a rating of 38 out of 39 students. Things go awry. Not good at drawing comics, is also not smart at school. Masashi Kishimoto did not give up and try harder to become a Jump mangaka. If now Kishimoto remind everything, He will not had a lot of thought, "Well, all will succeed. Thank God because I'm stupid! "

Now Masashi Kishimoto achieved his dream of becoming a famous Jump mangaka, his comic about a ninja that called "Naruto" become one of the most popular and most sought after all over the world.
